Description

The intention of Outreach is to provide a safe space for the child/adolescent who is requesting private art therapy sessions of their choice. This could be conducted in the home, hospital or other. The art therapy sessions are geared for the child/adolescent of adverse childhood experiences or End Of Life. The art therapy sessions provide a forum to confront painful emotions through engaging art processes. In many of the sessions, Outreach also allows for siblings and families to also express themselves creatively. The art sessions aim to build relationships through creative exploration and provide a space for positive memories and meaning making. Creative Art Therapy (CAT) transcends words, allowing visual representation of an emotion/feeling where language limits expression. It bridges the gap in communicating tough emotions and if used within a bereavement support group, it becomes a powerful tool for healing.
